Blog Review Week 10
This week I found an article on WordPress published by Burn Magazine written by Mallory Bracken on Alfio Tommasini’s Via Lactea. This article is about the photography of a small agricultural town in Switzerland that relies on their milk industry for employment and income. There is a concern within Tommasini’s work of the decline in dairy consumptions due to alternatives being consumed more because of lactose intolerance which is becoming more and more widespread. My initial thoughts when looking at these photographs were that I was looking at some sort of alien-like set. Maybe some sort of space farming? The further I investigated the sooner I realized the cows were the main focus as the community’s source of income.
